January 31, 2019

NEW YORK, January 31, 2019 - Location data and reputation management company Synup, headquartered in New York City and originally founded in India’s Silicon Plateau, Bengaluru, announced the expansion of its US senior leadership team as part of overall growth plans for 2019, today.

After closing on a $6 million Series A funding just over a year ago, Synup is now focusing on building its enterprise business with a team operating out of New York City. Synup has grown from 40 employees to over 140 employees in just a year, and has experienced a growth in revenue of over 300% in 2018.

Synup has tapped key industry leaders who will be instrumental in extending and accelerating the momentum of the company’s 2018 growth into 2019 and beyond. The appointment of SaaS and MarTech experts - former Yext employee Kevin Clark, VP of Sales, and industry veteran Lazaro Fuentes, SVP of Partnerships and Corporate Development - will make a significant impact to the company’s expansion plans, and will help the company scale even further.

“I am thrilled to have Kevin and Lazaro onboard. I’m confident that their years of expertise will add value to Synup in 2019 and the years to come. Last year was a year of tremendous growth for Synup, and 2019 is shaping up to be even better,” said Ashwin Ramesh, CEO of Synup and Forbes 30 under 30 alum who has also moved to New York to lead these expansion efforts.

Synup is disrupting the local listings space by providing the most cost-effective listings and reputation management solution in the market. The product’s focus for 2019 will include expanding its data insights offerings to help users understand the activities surrounding their local listings and their industry, while making these insights actionable. Employing advanced machine learning, Synup intends to provide users with sales attribution and targeting to enhance and add value to the client’s existing marketing cloud efforts.

“The company has seen dramatic growth in the past year; we are gearing up and growing our teams and product for an even better 2019. I’m really looking forward to it, ” said Kevin Clark, VP of Sales at Synup. “With these capabilities, we’re expecting some serious scale.”

“The local space is ripe for disruption. I’m here because I see a great team and an amazing leader in Ashwin Ramesh who inspires the team to think big. This perfect mix and momentum will allow us to become a leader in the Local Marketing industry,” said Lazaro Fuentes, SVP Partnership at Synup. “I’m excited to be a part of this team and to helping drive expansion in 2019 and 2020,” he added.

“With all of the growth that we’ve experienced, bringing on industry veterans like Kevin and Lazaro is vital for us to take things to the next level,” added Ramesh.
