Business owners are constantly struggling to stay relevant because technology evolves so quickly,  Consumers are consistently presented with a plethora of choices that ultimately make the competition greater. That is why business owners are hyper-focused on how to acquire new customers.

This is particularly true for restaurants. The restaurant industry has been consistently growing over the  past few decades. There are over one million restaurants in the United States and over 200 million consumers from the US visited a sit-down restaurant in the year 2018. That statistic, however, has been changing and quickly!

Restaurateurs these days are finding themselves in a predicament - They’re making the tough decision of whether or not they should partner with delivery platforms like GrubHub. As consumer behavior changes, your restaurant is pushed further into offering a take-out and delivery friendly experience. So, if you are the owner of a restaurant and wondering if getting your business registered on GrubHub is going to be worth it, here are some points that might nudge you in the right direction:

  • GrubHub can be great for local businesses. It gives your restaurant the opportunity to grow its business by expanding your reach and widening your customer base.
  • Registering your business on GrubHub gives you the ability to sell without investing in technology. The platform has a ready-to-use interface that you can add on to your portfolio as a new revenue channel.
  • You get the option of offering delivery services to your existing (and new!) customers without having to worry about hiring additional staff. GrubHub gives you the choice of making use of their delivery riders or your own.
  • GrubHub also allows you to take advantage of their marketing channels. The platform will enable your business to push relevant promotional content to your customers such as coupons and email marketing.
  • GrubHub can help you set up a new channel to drive online ordering or increase takeout orders from your own website. This is an added bonus that can prove to be financially beneficial for your business!

Once you have made the decision of registering your restaurant on GrubHub, you can follow the step-by-step guide below to complete the process.

Step 1

Head to the signup page for restaurants on GrubHub’s website. Fill out the form with the name of your restaurant, location zip code, and your personal details like email address and phone number.

Step 2

Once you submit the form, you will be redirected to a page that outlines the registration process. As shown here, the process can take up to 4 days.

Hit “Continue Signup” and review the information you filled out on the first page.

Step 3

The next step is to fill out your restaurant information. This will include the name, phone number, and the accurate location address. GrubHub also requires you to specify the number of locations you want to add on to their platform.

TIP:

If you have more than one location, you will need to enter the information about the first restaurant you’d like to add. The GrubHub team will get in touch with you to complete the registration process for the rest.

Step 4

After entering the restaurant information, you can review the pricing involved. This is where you can choose if you want to use GrubHub’s delivery riders or deliver yourself.

TIP:

Make sure you review the "Pricing Per Order" details with care before hitting the “Save and continue” button.

Step 5

The last step in this process requires you to enter your tax information. If you do not have this information handy, you can reach out to your legal team or counsel to get the FEIN. Or, you can call the IRS Business & Specialty Tax Line at 800-829-4933.

Step 6

At this point, GrubHub verifies your FEIN and redirects you to the final agreement. Make sure to review this carefully and keep a copy for your records.

Once you’ve completed the steps listed above, you can go ahead and build your restaurant on the platform. Upload your menu and schedule a free photoshoot with the team at GrubHub! The sole task at hand now is to push out tasty food to your customers. The GrubHub platform will help increase your business’ visibility and get more customers choosing you!
