As a business owner, it’s essential to include social media engagement as part of your marketing efforts. In this regard, creating and managing a Facebook page for your business is one of the most important things that you should focus on.
However, managing your business’ Facebook page doesn’t end with just posting content. You also have the option of boosting your posts in order to run promoted ad campaigns, reach your target demographic more effectively, and generate more quality leads. In this post, we’ll show you how to get started with your first Facebook ad campaign.
Login to your business’ Facebook page.
Scroll to the post that you want to boost, and click on ‘Boost Post’ in the bottom right corner of the post.
Now you’ll get a dialog box, with a preview of your promoted content across desktop, mobile, and Instagram feed formats on the right. On the left-hand side, you will have a scrollable list where you can define the different aspects of your ad campaign.
The next part is to define the objective of the promotion. You can choose either of two options: Engagement, which will generate more reactions, comments, and shares for your post, or Messages, which will focus on helping you get in touch and chat with potential customers.
In this step, you will have to add a Call-To-Action (CTA) button to your post. You will have a list of CTA options, from which you can choose the most relevant one. These options include Shop Now, Book Now, Learn More, Sign Up, and Send Message.
Note that you can choose not to have a CTA button if you don’t require.
As you scroll down, you’ll be asked to choose your audience. You can choose an audience based on location or a specific parameter, such as people who like your page, or their friends. You even have the option of including your business’ Instagram followers by running the promotion on your business’ Instagram page.
Now it’s time to choose your budget and the duration of your promotion. Facebook will show you an estimate of how many people your post will reach based on these, and certain other factors such as your target audience and previous promotions history (if available).
The final step is to choose your method of payment. If you have engaged in any form of payment on Facebook previously, you can choose the same again, or you can add a new card for payment.
Once you’ve entered your payment details, click on ‘Boost’ in the bottom right corner of the dialog box. Now your promoted ad is all set to go live, pending a review and approval from Facebook.
