It goes without saying, in this day and age, you must have your business on Facebook. As a business owner, you’re always looking for better ways to your target audience and let them know about your business. Facebook, having a 1.32 billion daily active user base, is an effective online social media platform that can help your business reach its audience. In order to leverage this opportunity, you need to add your business to Facebook by creating a Facebook business Page. Here’s a simple walkthrough to get you started.
Log on to https://www.facebook.com/ and log-in to your Facebook profile. In order to create your Facebook business Page, click on the upside-down triangle on the top right-hand corner of your homepage. Click on “Create Page”.
After clicking on “Create Page”, you’ll be led to the following window. Click on “local business or place.”
You will be presented with the following form. Enter the name of your business and street, city name or postal code of your business place in the form and click the
Search button.
When you click on Local Business or Place, you’ll be led to this form. Fill out your business information and click on “Get Started”.
Once you ‘ve added your business information, you’ll be prompted to add your profile image and cover image. To make your profile image relatable and identifiable with your business persona, make your business logo your profile image. Add a cover image that complements your business, that is – the services you provide, what your business represents, etc.
[Note: In case you want to put some more thought into this, you can skip this step.]
Once you’ve added your profile and cover images, you’ll be led to your Facebook business Page.
Now that you’ve added your business to Facebook, you need to add more business information to your Page. Click on the three dots [ … ] that appears below your cover image, and you’ll find a drop-down box with “Edit Page Info” as the first option.
You will further be led to the following page where you’ll have to fill in your business details in the relevant fields. Here’s an overview of the business information you’ll be required to add.
You’ve successfully added your business to Facebook. But it doesn’t stop there. Facebook is equipped with several other features that can help you engage with your audience. Learn more about it in our Ultimate Guide to Creating a Facebook Business Page.
