Start from a Sydekick idea
How do I get post ideas without writing from scratch?
Social opens on Ideas rather than the post list because Synup has usually already written something for you. Sydekick drafts posts for each location from that location's reviews, brand voice and recent activity, and leaves them as editable drafts. Read them, change what you want, then move one into the composer.
What Sydekick actually knows about this location
The ideas are specific, not generic filler. For a homestay in Fairbanks the drafts named the street the property is on, the season, and the reasons people travel there. That comes from the location's own record and its reviews — which is also why the copy sometimes drops in the location's real phone number or hours. Read it before you send it.
Each card carries a type chip such as ANNOUNCEMENT, its state — new ideas arrive as Draft — and a clamped preview with Show more.
PUBLISH does not publish
The button is misleading. PUBLISH on an idea card moves that idea into Create Post with the content already filled in. Nothing reaches Google, Facebook or anywhere else until you press Publish Now in the composer, where you still choose the profiles and check the preview.
CHAT opens a conversation about that one idea so you can ask for a different angle before you commit to it. GENERATE VISUAL appears on cards that arrived without an image.
When you want a different idea
Generate Idea writes a new one on the spot. Refresh Ideas re-runs the whole set for the location. Neither publishes anything, so there is no cost to asking twice.
Set the Location picker to All locations and a second section appears — Brand Ideas, for posts that belong to the whole client rather than one storefront. Those are the ones to use for a company announcement that shouldn't be written five different ways.
Holidays and observances
Synup seeds a content calendar of observances by industry, and they surface here rather than as a separate calendar page. The calendar works one location at a time, so pick a location in the scope bar before you look for upcoming dates — at All locations the panel tells you it needs one.
Watch out for
Next
Once an idea is in the composer, creating and publishing the post covers the profiles, preview and scheduling. If you want to write from scratch instead, start there directly.
